PADDD Class Outline

Our program utilizes local speakers and is a collaboration of the medical field, recovered trauma patients, families and law enforcement/EMS personnel. Participants go through the program that is tailored for impaired, aggressive and distracted driving issues.

Presentation can be tailored to individual needs.

Sample 3-Hour Program

FIRST HOUR
"Major Trauma Centers Perspective of Impaired and Reckless Driving"
Experienced Nurse and Police officer educates students on poor driving practices that have resulted in injury and death. The police officer uses powerpoint to review laws, safe driving practices. The nurse provides information on emergency nursing care and the true cost of impaired and reckless driving.  

SECOND HOUR
"Victims' Perspective of Dangerous Driving"
The victims' perspective is brought to life through true stories from an EMT or Paramedic who have provided care to traumatically injured patients. A recovered patient presents a personal story of triumph over life changing injuries due to impaired, distracted, speeding or other poor driving practices. 

FINAL HOUR
"Positive Driving Strategies"
Strategies are offered and discussed to prevent reckless and impaired driving. Time is allowed for questions and answers.
