Positive Choices for Life was created as an alternative sentencing program for teens who can benefit from practical lessons in injury prevention. The number one killer teens is accidental deaths due to car crashes and overdoses. This class is a two hour class taught by a nurse who worked at a local trauma center, an EMT or a retired Baltimore Police officer and recovered patient who sustained a brain injury due to drunk and drugged driving. Parents are encouraged to attend with their child. This program is targets the information presented to why the teens are there. Information on the opioid crisis is included and new information from the DEA is included as to how drugs are made, where they come from and side effects of the drugs. This is an interactive class and we encourage parents to attend with their teen. There is no charge for the parent or for a brother or sister to attend.
Registration starts at 9:45 am.
